Coinbase Asset Management, in partnership with Apex Group, has launched a tokenized share class of its Bitcoin Yield Fund on Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum-based blockchain. Apex Group, which manages $3.5 trillion in assets, acts as the transfer agent and ensures on-chain net asset value accuracy. The fund leverages the ERC-3643 standard and is designed for institutional and accredited investors. It offers exposure to Bitcoin returns while generating yield through strategies such as lending and selling call options. This initiative aims to enhance fund distribution, automate compliance, and reduce settlement times, reflecting the growing trend of tokenization in traditional finance. With this launch, Coinbase expands regulated, secure on-chain yield opportunities for institutional investors.
