FTX to pay $2.2B to creditors, some get 120% recovery

FTX will pay $2.2B to creditors on March 31, 2026. Some claims may receive up to 120% recovery, with payments processed via BitGo, Kraken, and Payoneer within three business days.

FTX is preparing to distribute approximately $2.2 billion to creditors on March 31, 2026, as part of its ongoing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. This will be the fourth major payout since the exchange's collapse, following previous distributions totaling over $6 billion. The FTX Recovery Trust will oversee the process, with payments managed through providers such as BitGo, Kraken, and Payoneer. Eligible creditors in both 'Convenience' and 'Non-Convenience' classes who have completed all necessary steps can expect to receive funds within one to three business days. U.S. customer claims are expected to be fully reimbursed, while some smaller claims may receive up to 120% recovery due to asset sales, clawbacks, and crypto price increases. The $2.2 billion reduction in the disputed claims reserve aims to accelerate payments for reconciled claims, improving liquidity and speeding up the payout timeline.
