Antalpha nets $100M+ profit on Tether Gold investment
Antalpha’s $241M Tether Gold investment has generated $100M+ in unrealized profit. The firm moved $15M in XAUT to Cobo, reflecting rising institutional interest in tokenized gold assets.
Antalpha has achieved over $100 million in unrealized profit from its significant investment in Tether Gold (XAUT), a tokenized gold asset. The firm accumulated around $241 million worth of XAUT, equivalent to about 1.8 tonnes of physical gold, at an average price of $3,693 per token. As gold prices surged to nearly $5,600, the value of Antalpha’s holdings rose sharply. Recent on-chain data reveals that Antalpha transferred approximately $15 million in XAUT to the institutional platform Cobo. This move has sparked speculation about potential profit-taking or active management of its position. The transfer aligns with a broader trend of increasing institutional demand for tokenized gold. Major entities, including Ethereum whales and Abraxas Capital, are also consolidating XAUT holdings. The number of Ethereum wallets holding XAUT has grown, reflecting rising interest in blockchain-based gold exposure as investors seek safer alternatives to volatile cryptocurrencies. Tokenized gold’s market capitalization continues to expand, underscoring its growing importance in digital asset portfolios.
