ICE invests in OKX: $25B deal spurs token surge

ICE invested in OKX at a $25B valuation, gaining a board seat and launching tokenized stocks and crypto futures. OKB surged 30%+, marking a major step in TradFi-crypto integration.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has made a strategic minority investment in cryptocurrency exchange OKX, valuing the platform at $25 billion. This partnership grants ICE a board seat and aims to launch new tokenized stocks and crypto futures products. ICE will license OKX’s spot crypto prices for futures products, while OKX will offer ICE futures and tokenized equities to its 120 million users. The collaboration also focuses on advancing clearing, risk management, multi-chain custody, and wallet architecture. Following the announcement, OKX’s native token OKB surged over 30%. Analysts suggest the $25 billion valuation may be conservative compared to independent estimates. This move marks a significant step in bridging traditional finance and digital assets, signaling increased institutional involvement and accelerating blockchain integration with established financial systems.
