Bitwise donates $233,000 from its Bitcoin ETF profits to support open-source Bitcoin developers, distributing funds to Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation.

Bitwise Asset Management has announced a $233,000 donation to support open-source Bitcoin developers, marking its second annual contribution of this kind. The funds, sourced from profits generated by the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF (BITB), will be distributed among three nonprofit organizations: Brink, OpenSats, and the Human Rights Foundation’s Bitcoin Development Fund. This initiative is part of Bitwise’s pledge to allocate 10% of BITB’s gross profits each year to support the Bitcoin ecosystem. The donation aims to empower the developers who maintain and secure the Bitcoin network, strengthening the link between financial products and the decentralized infrastructure they depend on. Bitwise stated that as the ETF grows, future contributions to the open-source community will also increase, further supporting critical protocol and security projects essential for the network’s stability.
