American Bitcoin expands mining fleet amid Q4 loss
American Bitcoin Corp. is adding 11,298 ASIC miners, boosting capacity by 12%. Despite growth, ABTC shares fell and the company posted a Q4 loss.
American Bitcoin Corp. has announced the purchase of 11,298 new ASIC miners, increasing its owned mining capacity by approximately 12%, or 3.05 exahash per second (EH/s). This brings the company’s total capacity to 28.1 EH/s across 89,242 miners. The new machines, featuring improved efficiency of 13.5 joules per terahash (J/TH), are scheduled for deployment at the Drumheller site in Alberta, Canada, in March 2026. Once operational, 58,999 miners will contribute around 25 EH/s. The company continues to focus on accumulating Bitcoin at costs below market prices, having mined at a 53% discount to spot in Q4 2025. Its Bitcoin holdings have grown from 5,401 to over 6,000 BTC. Despite this expansion, ABTC shares dropped between 2.6% and 7%, falling below the $1 mark. The company also reported a $59.45 million loss in Q4 2025. Executives emphasized their strategy of building an American-owned, professionally operated hashrate to protect the network and drive Bitcoin innovation in the U.S.
