Crypto funds rebound, Iranian outflows surge after airstrikes

Crypto funds rebounded with $1.06B in inflows, led by Bitcoin. Iranian exchange outflows surged 700% after US-Israeli airstrikes, as users moved assets offshore.

Crypto funds saw a dramatic turnaround, recording $1.06 billion in net inflows after five consecutive weeks of outflows totaling $4 billion. This reversal coincided with escalating US-Iran tensions and military strikes, which injected significant geopolitical uncertainty into the market. Despite a defensive market mood, institutional investors viewed the recent price drops as attractive entry points, with the US contributing $957 million of the inflows. Bitcoin led the surge, attracting $881.5 million, while Ethereum posted its strongest inflows since January. In contrast, outflows from Iran’s largest crypto exchange, Nobitex, soared by 700% within minutes of US-Israeli airstrikes on Tehran, as users rushed to move funds offshore and avoid traditional banking risks. This rapid capital flight underscores concerns over potential government asset seizures and exchange failures amid the ongoing conflict, intensifying volatility in Iran’s crypto market.
