Nexo returns to U.S. with Bakkt, launches new crypto services
Nexo returns to the U.S. with Bakkt, offering compliant crypto yield, exchange, and credit services after a three-year regulatory exit. The relaunch signals global expansion.
Nexo has officially re-entered the U.S. market after a three-year hiatus prompted by regulatory challenges and enforcement actions in 2022. The company is relaunching its digital asset services, including fixed and flexible yield programs, a spot cryptocurrency exchange, crypto-backed credit lines, and a loyalty program—all within a compliant regulatory framework. Nexo’s U.S. offerings are powered by Bakkt’s trading infrastructure, providing both retail and institutional clients with portfolio management and liquidity solutions. This move follows what Nexo calls a period of recalibration and improved regulatory clarity. Currently, Nexo manages $11 billion in assets and has processed $371 billion in global transactions. The company’s broader expansion strategy includes acquisitions in Latin America and sports sponsorships. Following the partnership announcement, Bakkt’s stock rose 7%.
