Circle Ventures invests in edgeX, launches USDC on EDGE
Circle Ventures backs edgeX, launching USDC and CCTP on EDGE Chain to boost liquidity, settlement, and institutional adoption in decentralized derivatives trading.
Circle Ventures has strategically invested in edgeX, a decentralized perpetual futures exchange. The firm is also set to launch native USDC and the Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) on EDGE Chain. This move aims to bolster institutional-grade infrastructure for onchain derivatives trading by enabling regulated stablecoin settlement and secure cross-chain transfers. EDGE Chain, a layer-3 blockchain built on Arbitrum and Ethereum, will support direct USDC operations and interoperable settlements for traders, institutions, and developers. edgeX currently boasts hundreds of thousands of users and reports billions in daily trading volume, with strong mobile adoption and growing interest in RWA-linked perpetual markets. The integration of native USDC and CCTP is expected to improve liquidity, enhance capital efficiency, and unlock new financial use cases across the EDGE ecosystem.
