Solana Mobile Unveils SKR Token Launch and Major Airdrop for 2025

Solana Mobile has confirmed the launch of its SKR token on January 21, 2025, marking a significant step in integrating blockchain with mobile hardware. The SKR token will have a fixed supply of 10 billion, with 30%—or 3 billion tokens—set aside for airdrops to Seeker device users and app developers, rewarding early supporters and fostering community engagement. A snapshot for airdrop eligibility has already been taken, covering over 9 million transactions and $2.6 billion in volume during Seeker Season 1. The token will enable holders to stake SKR and elect Guardians, who will curate the Seeker app store and help govern the platform. Additional allocations include 25% for growth and partnerships, 15% for the Solana Mobile team, 10% for Solana Labs, 10% for liquidity, and 10% for a community treasury. The SKR token aims to incentivize use, decentralize governance, and establish mobile devices as a primary layer for Web3 interaction. The first-generation Saga device is excluded from the airdrop due to discontinued software support.
