28 mysterious poems found on Bitcoin blockchain
Galaxy Research found 28 poetic messages on the Bitcoin blockchain over 12 days. The sender's identity and motives are unknown, with no signs of money laundering.
Galaxy Research has identified a mysterious pattern on the Bitcoin blockchain: an unknown user embedded the same short poem 26 times and another poem twice, totaling 28 messages over 12 days. The repeated poem reads: "thoughtless quartz clocks drift / blocks stack each a strict proof / timechain keeps score." These messages were stored using 103-byte OP_RETURN outputs, surpassing the previous relay limit of 83 bytes. The transactions involved minimal mining fees, and funds only moved between the sender and a custodial service, with no evidence of typical money laundering activity. Researchers speculate this could be an attempt to manipulate deposit metrics or transaction volumes for a custodial platform, or possibly the work of an autonomous AI agent. The true motive and identity behind these poetic blockchain inscriptions remain unknown, highlighting the unconventional uses of blockchain technology.
