Crypto job postings surge, applications drop

Crypto job postings tripled to 1,241 in September 2026, while applications fell below 20,000. Demand centered on finance, engineering, and trading, with Bitcoin as a key skill.

The cryptocurrency job market experienced a significant surge in job postings during September 2026. Vacancies on CryptoJobsList jumped from 382 in July to 1,241 in September, surpassing the previous record set in January. Meanwhile, job applications dropped sharply—from over 25,000 in July to fewer than 20,000 in September—indicating fiercer competition for specialized roles. Finance, engineering, and trading were the most sought-after areas, with top skills including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. The number of companies hiring also rose, reaching 125 in September. While the increase in vacancies may be partly due to post-summer seasonal recovery, the rebound is not consistent across all companies. The decline in applications suggests the industry is seeking more specialized talent.
