Cardano Foundation takes over Token2049 planning

EMURGO has transferred responsibility for organizing Cardano’s participation at the upcoming Token2049 conference to the Cardano Foundation. This decision follows the SecondFi incident, which resulted in significant asset losses. EMURGO is now prioritizing asset recovery for affected users and stated it cannot manage event preparations while focusing on these efforts. The transition was agreed upon after discussions with Intersect and the Cardano Foundation to ensure continuity and avoid disruption to the community-approved initiative. The Cardano Foundation will now oversee planning and execution of Cardano’s activities at Token2049, operating within the previously approved scope. Intersect played a key role in facilitating the operational shift, describing the move as proactive to mitigate uncertainty as the event approaches. EMURGO’s local team will continue to provide on-site support to ensure a smooth transition ahead of the conference.
