Telegram’s t.me domain suspended, disrupting crypto services

Telegram’s t.me domain was suspended, making all t.me links inaccessible and disrupting key crypto services. The core app remains operational. No official statements have been made.

Telegram’s primary short-link domain, t.me, was suspended by the .me domain registry on July 13, 2026, and placed in serverHold status, removing it from the global DNS system. As a result, all t.me links became inaccessible via web browsers, disrupting access to Telegram’s channel invites, bot URLs, and especially services tied to The Open Network (TON) blockchain, such as the built-in wallet and Mini Apps. Despite this, Telegram’s core messaging app and main website remain fully operational. However, the suspension has blocked millions of users from accessing key crypto services and sharing links externally. The registry-level suspension, which is rare and not related to a registrar or hosting provider, also prevents the domain from being transferred. The t.me registration remains active, but no public statements have been issued by Telegram, the .me registry, or backend operators. While the alternative domain telegram.me is still functional, the outage highlights the platform’s heavy reliance on t.me for its crypto ecosystem.
