Hoskinson launches Cardano governance review amid tensions

Charles Hoskinson is reviewing 11,000+ DAOs to propose Cardano governance reforms amid internal disputes, treasury funding rejections, and plans for constitutional changes by 2027.

Charles Hoskinson has initiated a comprehensive review of governance models from over 11,000 decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) to address internal conflicts and enhance Cardano’s governance. This effort builds on a decade of governance research and comes as Cardano faces significant disputes over treasury funding proposals. Notably, a recent 32.9 million ADA research funding proposal met strong opposition from Delegated Representatives. Hoskinson is considering registering as a Decentralized Representative (DRep) to directly influence Cardano’s on-chain governance. He is also contemplating hosting a mini-convention before the 2027 governance cycle to align stakeholders on proposed constitutional reforms. The review aims to analyze executive functions, roadmap control, and strategy setting, with the goal of introducing new features and reforms to Cardano’s governance through its constitution and technological advancements. These ongoing tensions highlight the need for clearer milestones and more transparent funding mechanisms within the Cardano ecosystem.
