Foundry’s Zcash pool captures 30% hashrate, launches explorer

Foundry Digital’s Zcash mining pool swiftly captured 30% of the network’s hashrate, targeting institutional miners and launching Zcashinfo.com for real-time network and mining data.

Foundry Digital has launched a new Zcash mining pool, quickly capturing around 30% of the network’s total hashrate since its March announcement. The pool is tailored for institutional and regulated miners, operating under a compliance-first model. This approach has attracted significant participation from large-scale mining entities even before the pool’s official debut. In addition to the mining pool, Foundry introduced Zcashinfo.com, a block explorer offering real-time data on network activity, pool rankings, hashrate distribution, block data, and mining difficulty. Zcash, launched in 2016, is renowned for its privacy features powered by zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs), enabling transaction verification without revealing sender, recipient, or amount. Foundry’s initiative addresses institutional demand for compliant privacy-coin mining infrastructure. However, it has also sparked concerns about centralization, as a substantial portion of new ZEC issuance is now managed by a single operator.
