A solo Bitcoin miner achieved a rare feat by solving block 944,306 on April 9, using around 70 terahashes per second (TH/s) of computing power through the Solo CKpool mining pool. The miner earned a total reward of approximately USD 222,000, which included the 3.125 BTC block subsidy and about USD 212 in transaction fees. According to Con Kolivas, CKpool's administrator, the odds of a miner with this level of hashrate solving a block are about 1 in 100,000 per day—an event that might only happen once every 300 years. The miner's hashrate ranged between 62 and 73 TH/s, comparable to older ASIC models such as the Antminer S19, MicroBT Whatsminer M32, and Canaan Avalon 1166 PRO. This accomplishment demonstrates that, despite fierce competition from industrial-scale operations, individual miners with modest equipment can still achieve significant rewards on the Bitcoin network, even if such successes are exceedingly rare.
