Bitget boosts security with Sygnum Bank custody

Bitget integrates Sygnum Bank’s Protect platform, letting institutional clients store collateral in segregated Swiss accounts. This enhances asset security and supports the trend toward regulated crypto custody.

Bitget has integrated with Sygnum Bank’s Protect off-exchange custody platform, allowing institutional clients to keep their trading collateral in segregated, bankruptcy-remote accounts governed by Swiss law. This setup ensures client assets are held separately from Bitget’s balance sheet, enhancing security and protecting funds from potential exchange insolvency. By joining Protect, Bitget aligns with other major exchanges using the platform, which now accounts for over half of global spot and derivatives trading volume and manages more than $1 billion in assets. Institutional clients can trade on Bitget while their collateral remains securely stored with Sygnum, addressing longstanding trust issues in crypto trading. The integration does not change trading mechanics but adds a significant layer of protection for client assets. This move reflects a broader industry trend toward regulated, bank-grade custody solutions for digital assets.
