Revolut secures French banking license, expands in EU

Revolut gains a French banking license, expanding its EU presence and enabling new financial services for over 30 million Western European customers.

Revolut has secured a full banking license in France, establishing its second banking entity within the European Union. This dual-hub structure, with entities in both France and Lithuania, allows Revolut to strengthen its European presence and enhance regulatory compliance. The new French subsidiary, Revolut Bank S.A., will initially serve customers in France and gradually expand to Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. Meanwhile, the Lithuanian branch will continue to serve the rest of the European Economic Area. With this license, Revolut can now offer credit, savings, and mortgage products in France. The company has invested over one billion euros in its European expansion and plans to set up its Western European headquarters in Paris by 2027, aiming to serve over 30 million customers in the region.
