BNY partners with Galaxy for institutional crypto staking
BNY partners with Galaxy to offer crypto staking for institutional clients, allowing rewards on assets held in custody. The service is pending regulatory approval and launch details are yet to be announced.
BNY is preparing to launch crypto staking services for institutional clients through a partnership with Galaxy. This collaboration will enable clients to earn staking rewards on digital assets held within BNY’s custody platform, removing the need to transfer assets to external providers. Galaxy will provide the staking infrastructure and serve as a design partner as BNY expands its digital asset offerings. The service is currently pending regulatory approval, and details regarding the launch date or supported assets have not yet been disclosed. The partnership aims to streamline digital asset operations by integrating custody, staking, reporting, and tax services into a single platform. BNY has been growing its digital asset business since introducing crypto custody in 2022, and this move further integrates blockchain services into traditional finance. The bank also plans to test private blockchain solutions and offer 24/7 settlement for tokenized Treasuries.
