Visa, ANZ, and partners pilot instant blockchain settlements

Visa, ANZ, Fidelity International, and ChinaAMC piloted near-instant, compliant cross-border digital asset settlements using Chainlink under the HKMA’s e-HKD initiative.

Visa, ANZ, Fidelity International, and ChinaAMC have successfully completed a cross-border settlement pilot as part of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s e-HKD initiative. The pilot leveraged Chainlink’s blockchain infrastructure to enable secure, near-instant settlement of regulated digital assets between private and public blockchains, replacing the traditional two-day settlement cycle with real-time transactions. Chainlink’s technology facilitated automated compliance, identity verification, and atomic settlement, ensuring regulatory standards were met while safeguarding sensitive information. The system connected ANZ’s private DASChain with the public Ethereum Sepolia testnet, utilizing Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol and Automated Compliance Engine for secure, compliant transfers. This pilot marks a significant advancement in efficient, secure, and compliant cross-border digital asset settlements for financial institutions, showcasing the potential of blockchain technology in transforming traditional settlement processes.
