Societe Generale-FORGE and Swift pilot tokenized bond settlement
Societe Generale-FORGE and Swift piloted tokenized bond settlements using fiat and EUR CoinVertible stablecoin, showcasing full lifecycle management and integration with existing financial systems.
Societe Generale-FORGE and Swift have completed a series of pilot projects demonstrating the settlement of tokenized bonds using both fiat currencies and the MiCA-compliant EUR CoinVertible stablecoin. These pilots covered the entire lifecycle of tokenized bonds, including issuance, delivery-versus-payment, coupon payments, and redemption, all managed within Swift’s existing infrastructure. The EUR CoinVertible stablecoin, natively compatible with Swift’s interoperability framework, enabled seamless integration between blockchain platforms and traditional financial systems. The pilots also explored hybrid settlement models that combined fiat and stablecoins, utilizing ISO 20022 messaging standards for compatibility with current payment systems. Over 30 global banks participated, highlighting the feasibility of regulated, interoperable digital assets. This collaboration marks a significant step toward bridging traditional finance and blockchain technology, enhancing operational reliability and regulatory compliance for digital asset adoption.
