CZ: Bitcoin could surpass gold and reach $1M soon
CZ predicts Bitcoin could surpass gold, reach $1M faster than 25 years, and become a major reserve asset if its utility and adoption grow.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) spoke at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong, predicting that Bitcoin could surpass gold by market capitalization in the next bull market. He noted that the current market value gap between gold and Bitcoin is about tenfold, but this could narrow as more investors and governments consider digital assets as reserve assets. Zhao explained that while large countries have established systems for valuing and holding gold, transitioning to Bitcoin as a reserve asset will take time. However, he expects this shift could happen in the next bull run. He also stressed the importance of increasing Bitcoin’s practical utility, such as broader adoption for payments and inclusion in retirement and pension reserves. CZ further predicted that Bitcoin could reach $1 million much faster than 25 years if its utility grows. He expects Bitcoin to make up more than 50% of strategic crypto reserves, alongside Ethereum and BNB.
