POSCO International tokenizes receivables on Avalanche
POSCO International tokenized $22.2B in trade receivables on Avalanche, using AI for document verification. The project, with Olea and Intain, aims to expand tokenized trade finance solutions.
POSCO International, a leading South Korean trading company with annual revenues of $22.2 billion, has successfully tokenized its trade receivables on the Avalanche blockchain. This real-world asset (RWA) transaction was executed through its U.S. subsidiary and follows a similar pilot on the Injective blockchain conducted a month earlier. The initiative was carried out in partnership with trade finance platform Olea and asset-backed fintech firm Intain. Intain leveraged artificial intelligence to audit and reconcile trade documents—including invoices, purchase orders, credit notes, and shipping documents—before recording the receivables on its Avalanche-based Layer 1 network. A real investor purchased the credit rights with actual capital, demonstrating a move beyond technical testing. POSCO, Olea, and Intain plan to further develop tokenized trade finance solutions, such as stablecoin-based cross-border settlements and digital treasury management, to enhance efficiency and transparency in global trade finance.
