MoneyGram launches crypto-to-cash service on Solana
MoneyGram’s Ramps service is now on Solana, enabling users in 170+ countries to convert cash and crypto, supporting deposits, withdrawals, and bridging traditional finance with blockchain.
MoneyGram has expanded its MoneyGram Ramps service to the Solana blockchain, allowing wallets, exchanges, and developers on Solana to connect directly to its global cash network. This integration enables users to seamlessly convert between cash and digital assets, supporting cash deposits in over 25 countries and withdrawals in more than 170 countries and territories. The service acts as a bridge between stablecoins and physical cash, letting users deposit cash to receive digital assets or convert crypto into local currency at MoneyGram locations. This rollout aims to simplify digital asset access, reduce reliance on separate banking infrastructure, and strengthen the connection between traditional finance and blockchain networks. MoneyGram Ramps also supports the company’s MGUSD stablecoin and is part of a broader multi-chain strategy that includes Stellar. The launch of MoneyGram’s API on Solana connects millions of users and nearly 500,000 retail locations, marking a significant step toward mainstream crypto adoption.
