Recent surveys by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) reveal that 25% of Canadians now own digital assets or crypto investment funds, a notable rise from 10% in 2023 and 13% in 2022. This surge highlights the growing influence of cryptocurrencies in Canada's financial landscape, with nearly 39% of investors holding some form of crypto product. Crypto awareness is also on the rise, as 59% of Canadians can now correctly identify crypto assets, up from 54% last year. Despite this progress, many still misunderstand key aspects such as regulation and investor protection. Importantly, 74% of crypto owners report actively using their assets, with stablecoin holders showing even higher usage, particularly for international transactions. These trends point to increasing market maturity and mainstream acceptance of digital assets in Canada, with trusted platforms playing a pivotal role.
