Revolut launches Dogecoin-themed crypto card with LED
Revolut launched a Dogecoin-themed crypto debit card with LED lighting, enabling direct crypto payments at Visa and Mastercard merchants in the UK and EEA. Users are cautioned about crypto risks.
Revolut has introduced its first physical crypto debit card, featuring a Dogecoin design and integrated LED lighting for contactless payments. This card allows users to pay directly from their crypto balances, including Dogecoin, at any merchant that accepts Visa or Mastercard. Revolut automatically converts the selected cryptocurrency to fiat at the point of sale, making crypto spending as seamless as using a traditional debit card. The card is initially available in the UK and European Economic Area, excluding Hungary, Switzerland, and Portugal, with a limited initial release. This launch extends Revolut’s crypto-payment capabilities from its app to a physical product, further integrating digital assets into everyday transactions. Additionally, Revolut has received FCA approval to offer leveraged investment products, portfolio management, and advisory services in the UK. The company also plans to launch a UK private bank targeting mass-affluent clients. Alongside the card launch, Revolut has warned users about the high risks and volatility associated with crypto assets, emphasizing that users should not expect protection if issues arise.
