X to launch direct crypto and stock trading from timeline

X (formerly Twitter) is set to launch Smart Cashtags, a new feature enabling users to trade cryptocurrencies and stocks directly from their timelines. This upcoming tool will let users tag specific assets or smart contract addresses in posts, view real-time prices, interactive charts, related mentions, and execute trades—all within the app. Smart Cashtags will support both major stocks and small-cap tokens, leveraging real-time data from an upgraded API. X Money, the platform’s financial ecosystem, is currently in closed beta and will soon expand to external beta testing. This initiative aims to seamlessly integrate financial services into the social media experience, updating API rules to prevent misuse and maintain a positive environment.
