CZ: NYSE’s tokenized platform boosts crypto optimism
CZ calls NYSE’s tokenized securities platform a major boost for crypto, citing innovation and institutional growth, but warns of possible market uncertainty in 2026.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), founder of Binance, views the New York Stock Exchange’s (NYSE) plan to launch a tokenized securities platform as a major positive for the cryptocurrency and exchange industry. The upcoming NYSE platform will allow 24/7 trading of securities and ETFs, featuring instant settlement and stablecoin-based funding, which removes the need for traditional bank transfers. Securities will be issued directly as digital assets, creating a blockchain-native trading environment instead of merely digitizing existing infrastructure. NYSE intends to run both a traditional and a digital exchange in parallel, aiming to blend conventional and innovative financial models. CZ also pointed out that institutional growth, fueled by products like spot ETFs, is significantly impacting the market. However, he cautioned that 2026 could bring uncertainty due to conflicting market cycles and evolving political and economic support in the US, potentially leading to either a price drop or a rally.
