Arc by Circle Now Available in Tangem
Arc supports 22 fiat-backed stablecoins, plus tokenized funds such as BlackRock's BUIDL and Circle's USYC.
Stablecoins carry most of the value that moves onchain. Moving them has always cost a different asset. You hold 500 USDC on Ethereum, and you cannot send one cent of it. The transaction needs ETH, so your dollars sit still until you go and buy some. Arc ends that. USDC is the native gas token, so the dollars you hold pay for the dollars you move.
What is Circle's Arc blockchain?
Arc is a Layer 1 blockchain built by Circle, the issuer of USDC. Circle designed Arc for stablecoin payments and tokenized finance. The chain is EVM-compatible, so smart contracts and developer tools that work on Ethereum work on Arc.
Blocks come from a permissioned set of 11 institutions plus Circle. The list includes BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, Mastercard, and Standard Chartered.
