Nubank, Mercado Pago pause crypto transfers after outage

Nubank and Mercado Pago paused crypto withdrawals, deposits, and transfers due to external provider issues. Funds are safe and trading remains available.

Nubank and Mercado Pago temporarily suspended cryptocurrency withdrawals, deposits, and transfers on their platforms this Friday due to issues with external service providers. Both companies assured customers that their funds remain secure and that buying and selling of digital assets are still available. Nubank attributed the disruption to an external transaction verification provider, clarifying that no security risks were identified. However, the company did not provide an estimated time for services to return to normal. Mercado Pago explained that the instability was caused by an incident with a risk monitoring and anti-money laundering provider. This led to the preventive blocking of some transfers to external wallets and possible delays in deposit credits. Both institutions are actively monitoring the situation and will restore full services once stability is achieved.
