HairDAO is a BioDAO, part of the DeSci movement, dedicated to funding early-stage research and development in the field of hair loss. The project aims to increase early-stage funding to bring new hair loss treatments to market. HairDAO was launched in November 2021 and is part of the first bio.xyz cohort, alongside VitaDAO, AthenaDAO, ValleyDAO, and PsyDAO. In November 2021, HairDAO minted its first IP-NFT related to a study testing the impact of T3 and T4 Thyroid Hormones on human scalp skin organ cultures.

Main features

HairDAO is unique in its approach, as it is the only project using cryptocurrency to facilitate real-world innovation through the generation of intellectual property (IP) related to hair loss. The project has a pipeline of hair loss research studies that it plans to fund, conduct, and mint as IP-NFTs until a cure for hair loss is found.

How it works

The HAIR token is primarily a governance token, allowing holders to participate in decision-making processes within the HairDAO community. Each token represents one vote, enabling token holders to influence the direction and priorities of the project. While additional utility for the token may be introduced in the future, its current primary function is governance.
