Secure element technology: The Tangem ring uses the Tangem chip — an EAL6+ CC-certified secure element designed in collaboration with Samsung Semiconductors — to provide the highest level of protection from invasive and non-invasive attacks. This feature ensures its users' digital assets remain safeguarded at all times.
NFC connectivity: Like the Tangem cards, the ring is equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) antennas, enabling effortless communication with compatible devices — any NFC-enabled smartphone. This allows for seamless transactions and easy management of cryptocurrency holdings.
Durable and stylish design: The Tangem Ring is not only a powerhouse of technology but also a fashion statement. Made from the finest materials: The initial batch of rings was crafted from zirconium dioxide (zirconia), a robust ceramic substance commonly utilized in dental crowns, joint implants, and as a thermal barrier coating (TBC) in jet and diesel engines to facilitate operation under extreme temperatures.
Zirconia can exhibit a hardness up to four times that of stainless steel, making it significantly more resilient to everyday wear and tear, especially in resisting scratches.
How to use the Tangem Ring
Using the Tangem ring is as simple as using the tangem cards. First, tap it against your phone's NFC antenna, and you'll be prompted to download the Tangem app from the mobile app store. If you already have the app, you can set up a wallet using the ring and Tangem cards.
When will the Tangem Ring go into full production?
We're currently testing several manufacturers to help us mass-produce such a small but complex piece of Tangem's history. While we aim to uphold our reputation for offering competitive prices and top-notch quality, early estimates suggest that the Tangem Ring will come with a price tag of no less than $200 for the end consumer.
When to preorder the Tangem Ring
The Tangem Ring will be available for preorders in Q1 2024. Following its exceptional reception at the Cardano summit, we are accelerating our efforts in research and production of the rings and expect to feature them on our website by March 2024.
