Super Micro surprises with forecast boost – Stock and Bitcoin rise
Super Micro raises revenue forecast, stock up 17%. Analysts urge caution as cash flow and inventories remain key. AI optimism boosts Dell, HPE, and Bitcoin.
Super Micro Computer has surpassed market expectations with its preliminary business figures for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, raising its revenue forecast by $4 billion to a range of $18.5 to $19.5 billion. This surge is driven by strong demand for AI server solutions, which pushed the stock up by as much as 17% in after-hours trading. The company also improved its operating gross margin to between 12% and 12.5%. Despite these positive results, analysts remain cautious. They emphasize that the revenue increase must be matched by improved cash flow and stable inventories to ensure sustainable growth. Super Micro's optimistic outlook also triggered price gains for Dell and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Additionally, robust results from Super Micro and SpaceX have fueled AI-related trading sentiment, pushing Bitcoin's price close to $83,000. The crypto market experienced notable activity from large investors and saw significant gains in new token listings.
