Tangem Wallet is sold in sets of 2 or 3 cards. In case you lose one of your cards, you’ll have either one or two backups depending on the set you choose.
With three cards, you’ll be able to store backups in different locations, offering enhanced security when accessing your assets. If you have at least two cards, you’ll also be able to reset your password in the app when needed.
If you lose one of the two cards in your set, you’ll still be able to access the wallet, but you won’t have a backup card. If this happens, we recommend purchasing a new Tangem Wallet set and transferring the funds from your old wallet to the new one.

When you activate Tangem Wallet, a private key is created. This key will always be associated with the card, and is what you’ll use later on to access your assets and physically confirm transactions.
The private key belongs exclusively to the card owner and, more importantly, the information is completely secure – even the card owner won’t have to handle it.
It’s impossible to steal the key or trick the card owner into revealing it. There is no way of gaining access to the private key, and even the card owner doesn’t know it.
