Traditionally, training a 1 million image dataset on platforms like AWS could take 2-3 weeks. Raven Protocol aims to cut this down to just 2-3 hours. This is achieved by creating a network of compute nodes that utilize idle compute power, making AI training faster and more efficient.

Main features

Raven Protocol establishes a self-sustaining ecosystem that benefits both customers and contributors. Customers, typically AI companies, can train their AI engines more efficiently, while contributors can share their compute resources, such as computers, smartphones, or server racks. The ecosystem is powered by Raven Tokens (RAVEN), which facilitate secure transactions. Enterprise clients rent compute power using RAVEN, and contributors are rewarded in the same token.

How it works

The protocol incentivizes global participation by rewarding individuals who contribute their compute power. Additionally, token holders can run masternodes responsible for orchestrating the training of deep neural networks. The consensus mechanism, known as Proof-of-Calculation, regulates and distributes incentives to compute nodes. Incentives are based on two main factors: speed, which measures how quickly a node can perform gradient calculations and return them to the Gradient Collector, and redundancy, ensuring that only the three fastest redundant calculations qualify for incentives, guaranteeing high-quality and genuine gradients.
