How it works

The native utility token of the Maverick ecosystem is MAV, which is primarily used for governance. Governance within Maverick is conducted through a Voting Escrow (ve) contract, where users can stake MAV to receive veMAV. This system is designed to empower users who are committed to the ecosystem by granting them more voting power based on the duration of their MAV stake. The longer a user stakes their MAV, the more veMAV they receive, thereby increasing their influence in governance decisions. Future plans for Maverick include launching voting escrow and governance contracts in Q3 2023, expanding AMM to more chains, and introducing MAV LayerZero support in H1 2024, subject to DAO votes.
