KuCoin is an international cryptocurrency exchange based in Seychelles, supporting the trading of 250 digital assets. The exchange is unique in that it shares 50% of its overall trading fee revenue with users who hold their exchange-based token, KuCoin Shares (KCS). The founders began researching blockchain technology in 2011 and built the technical architecture for KuCoin in 2013, launching the exchange in 2017 with the goal of becoming one of the top 10 worldwide exchange platforms by 2019.
