f(x) Protocol is designed to create two new Ethereum derivative assets: one with stablecoin-like low volatility and another as a leveraged long ETH perpetual token. This is achieved by separating ETH collateral into two tokens: fETH, which has lower volatility, and xETH, which has higher volatility.
Main features
The protocol aims to create a symbiotic system that decomposes ETH into two useful tokens. For fETH, the goal is to produce a low volatility token that is fully decentralized, Ethereum-native, minimizes volatility while retaining market exposure, can be minted and redeemed instantly, and has maximum liquidity depth. For xETH, the protocol creates a leveraged long ETH token that is decentralized, composable with on-chain liquidity, and has a low risk of liquidation.
How it works
f(x) Protocol adopts ve tokenomics, where locking FXN tokens results in receiving veFXN. The longer the lock time, the more veFXN is received. Additionally, 75% of treasury revenue is distributed to veFXN holders, incentivizing participation and investment in the protocol.
