What is Multi-Accounts in Tangem Wallet?

The Multi-Accounts feature allows you to split a single Tangem wallet into multiple independent accounts. This makes it easier to manage funds for different purposes, such as:

• keeping long-term savings separate
• using a dedicated account for daily transactions
• allocating funds for staking or yield
• connecting to DApps with different addresses

Each account has its own addresses and balances, while all accounts are managed within one wallet.

How many accounts can I create?

You can have up to 20 active accounts within one wallet. If you reach the limit, you’ll see a notification. To create a new account, you can archive an unused one.

What is the Main account?

The Main account is created automatically when you generate a wallet. It cannot be archived or removed.

Are all networks available in every account?

Chia is available only in the Main account due to technical limitations. All other supported networks are available in all accounts.

How can I create a new account?

To create a new account, follow the steps:

1. Open your wallet.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
3. Select the wallet from the list.
4. Tap Add account.
5. Enter an account name and choose a color and icon.

Additional account settings:

• Accounts can be reordered by drag and drop in Wallet Settings.
• On the main screen, accounts can be collapsed or expanded for easier navigation.
• The main screen shows an aggregated balance of all accounts.

How do I archive an account?

To archive an account, follow the steps:

1. Open your wallet.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
3. Select the wallet from the list.
4. Select the account.
5. Tap Archive account.

Important:

• The account is not deleted. All balances, addresses, tokens, and transaction history are preserved, even if the account still contains funds.
• The archived account is hidden from the main screen. It can be restored at any time.
• Archived accounts are excluded from the total balance calculation.
• The Main account cannot be archived.

How do I restore an archived account?

To restore an archived account, follow the steps:

1. Open your wallet.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner.
3. Select the wallet from the list.
4. Tap Archived accounts.
5. Tap Recover next to the account you want to restore.

Important: You cannot restore an archived account if you already have 20 active accounts. To restore an account, please archive another unused account first to free up an active slot.

Do all accounts support the same features?

Yes. Each account supports all Tangem Wallet features, including Send, Receive, Buy, Sell, Swap, Swap & Send, WalletConnect, Staking, and Yield. You can also perform cross-account transfers, moving funds between accounts within the same wallet.

Can multiple accounts participate in the referral program?

No. Only one account per wallet can participate in the referral program.

Once an account is linked, other accounts become unavailable for referral participation. The account participating in the referral program cannot be archived.

Are custom tokens tied to specific accounts?    

Yes.

If you add a custom token and its derivation path matches an existing account, the token is automatically assigned to that account.

If the derivation path does not match any existing account, the token is added to the Main account by default.

If you later create an account with a derivation path that matches an already added custom token, the token is automatically reassigned to that account.

Which derivation paths are used for accounts?

To ensure compatibility with other wallets, standard derivation paths are used.

EVM networks
For EVM networks, accounts use the last index in the derivation path:

• m/44'/60'/0'/0/0
• m/44'/60'/0'/0/1
•  m/44'/60'/0'/0/2

Non-EVM networks
For non-EVM networks, accounts use the third index in the derivation path:

• m/84'/0'/0'/0/0
• m/84'/0'/1'/0/0
• m/84'/0'/2'/0/0
